Authors, here me when I say this:
There is never going to be a time that you don’t doubt yourself.
I doubt my worth all the time.
When I see an Indie bookstore promoting an author and getting massive hits and likes,
I doubt myself.
When I see an author posting about all the places he is going to.
I doubt myself.
When I see another author contracted with a bigger publisher than mine,
I doubt myself.
When I see one of my readers, seemingly more enthusiastic about other authors,
I doubt myself.
Doubting oneself, one’s capabilities and the value of one’s work is a natural part of being an author. So, if you doubt yourself, welcome to the author world. You are now one of us. The important part to remember is self-doubt is natural. Stopping what you are doing because of self-doubt, is not.
