Pssst. Are you interested in opportunities to sell more books? Don't overlook this piece of advice. Work with other authors.

Yes, I said it. Authors are not your competition. Although sometimes the idea of working with other authors might seem daunting or nerve-wracking, don't be intimidated for they are people, too.

You want to find the right authors, though. What I mean by this is create a group of authors in mind that write your same genre and have your same audience that you are targeting.

If you are writing a memoir, you don't want to parter with an author that is writing a mystery novel, etc., etc.

What I mean by working with other authors and partnering with them is by doing things like sharing their latest book or pre-order on your social media accounts and having an agreement that they will do the same for you. Your author friend will reach an audience of readers you might not have, and this will help you with interest and sales.

Make sure, whatever you do, that your efforts are returned. Of course, you can do a shout out or post their book without their returning the favor but swaps are where it is at and if you can get one, it helps to gain exposure for your book.
